Dr. Vanitha Ratnalingam graduated with full university colours from “ University Sains Malaysia”. She then went on to obtain her Masters in Ophthalmology from  “ University Kebangsaan Malaysia” where she was trained in the management of common eye diseases such as cataract, glaucoma and various retinal diseases.

As she has worked in Ophthalmology for more than 10 years, Dr. Vanitha is an experienced cataract surgeon having performed more than 1000 surgeries to date. In 2013, she completed her Fellowship in Corneal Diseases at the prestigious “ Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital” in Melbourne, Australia. She is trained in the latest techniques of corneal transplants, limbal stem cell transplants and collagen cross linking.

Upon returning to Malaysia, Dr. Vanitha had performed the first automated endothelial keratoplasty in Malaysia. Dr. Vanitha is also a keen researcher having published in numerous international journals. In 2010, she won the prestigious “Troutman Prize” at the Corneal Society Meeting held at Chicago, U.S.A for her work on pterygium surgery. She had also spoken at various national and international meetings. Most recently, she was an invited speaker at the World Ophthalmology Congress 2016 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
